Words Without Thoughts Never to Heaven Go
Lately I've been reacquainting myself with Ed Ruscha, mostly because I stumbled upon his great project at the Miami Dade Public Library, Words Without Thoughts Never to Heaven Go. The quote, from Shakespeare's Hamlet, wraps around the rotunda of the main library. In addition, Ruscha created 60 other paintings to fill the first two floors of the library. Miami seemed/s to be on it with public art, including the famous orange peel spot.
This project at the Los Angeles Public Library is another great meeting of art and libraries as well.
