in case of

Photos and info up on Kathleen Hanna's website of past artwork and curated projects.  In case of - New York City, shown above, is an installation made with Becca Albee that was inspired by responses from NYC women who shared what they carried with them to give them a sense of security.   Also noteworthy is the 3D Freak Volcano show, a multi-media project set up like a bedroom (to encourage hanging out) featuring work by Miranda July, Sadie Benning, Tammy Rae Carland and others!  Czech it out!

Elk 11

One of my personal favorites, Elk 11 takes the familiar  Elk concept of found and submitted images one step further by offering a CD of musical arrangements scored to each page by George Draguns.

We have one copy of Elk 11 left but a large collection of the newer ones as well as most Elk books here in the shop.

Work(ed) & Amigos Totes

Peter Sutherland's zine/project Work(ed) from Swill Children is awesome! This brown paper bag is stacked with cool things; a zine of collages, a beautiful Risograph book of Sutherland's familiar subject matter (the woods, The West, guys, nature, etc.), a newsprint/Risograph poster featuring a photo by Peter's bro, Andrew, and a Magic Grip jar opener.  We only have 2 of these left and there were only 193 made so don't slack too long on this!

Also, we got in some great tote bags, designed by Monica Yi. They came out great and if you look closely sport Amigos and Amigas! They are of course available in our shop and online here! We'll be open 12-7 Friday, 12-7 Saturday and 12-4 Sunday. More new stock should be arriving this week!

a ray array

A RAY ARRAY TRAILER from Sarah Rara on Vimeo.
A RAY ARRAY is a new video directed by Sarah Rara, of Lucky Dragons and Sumi Ink Club, that examines visual and aural interference.  Structured like a collection of short stories, the piece is composed of 15 video chapters that deal with different forms of interference: from the failure of a message to be discernable, sudden interruptions, visual disturbance, the interaction of 2 sound signals, instability, and optical effects.  The piece explores the subject of interference using simple sets, everyday objects, and subtle special effects.  A RAY ARRAY will be exhibited as an hour long loop that the viewer may enter at any point.  Please help support this project via Kickstarter, you can get an awesome variety of art/music in exchange for your help.

Ray Potes, an integral part of the Hamburger Eyes Complex, put out a great zine, Waterfall Hunters not too long ago. Printed economically but beautifully with a laser printer, this 44 page zine is in an edition of 100. We had a few copies but are down to only one. And, while you're at it, peep this cool podcast that Hamburger Eyes compadres, Cold Blood have up on the site titled Light Reflections.
